THE ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Lone Star youth Council, Inc.'s academic scholarship program has been a staple of the organization since July, 1994. Each year, the Scholarship/Financial Aid Search Committee evaluates scholarship applicants, select at least two (2) applicants that meet the qualification standards, have the applicants approved by the Board Of Directors, and award the scholarship.
Once tha applicants have been chosen and the scholarships awarded, they must enroll in their school of choice (college, trade or technical), and have received a student identification number before the committee will release funds to their school of choice. Once the applicants have done this and they fail to follow through on their commitment to go to school, the school will return the funds to the Lone Star Youth Council, Inc. for further scholarship awardance action.
